Foster that natural curiosity in your little one by venturing outdoors to ‘spy’ what’s happening at Gibson Woods Nature Preserve. Each session will include a story, craft, snack and plenty of outdoor exploration. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188.

Story time in the Barn

Bring your young child to a special story reading in the historic barn at Buckley Homestead County Park.

Stop by to ‘cast your vote’ by making a craft of your favorite of our woodland animals. The trails will be open till 5 PM too for you to enjoy and see if you can spy them in the wild.

Discover the natural wonders of the Lake County Parks during a monthly play date. We will meet at a different park each month to see what nature has in store to explore. Ages 2-6 with caregiver. Play dates are every 3rd Friday of each month.

Nature is full of lots of surprises-maybe even fairies! Come join us where we will build a house in the woods for fairies and nature’s friends to visit. The simple challenge of creating a fairy house gives children a unique activity that encourages them to go outside and connect with the natural world, while nurturing care and respect for the environment. Please dress for weather. Please register by calling 219-844-3188. No organized groups, please.
