What is your favorite woodland animal? Squirrel, fox or cardinal? Stop in and ‘cast your vote’ by making a craft of your favorite. The trails will be open until 5 pm too for you to enjoy and see if you can spy them in the wild. Program designed for ages 3 and up.

Winter presents many challenges to animal that live in the Midwest, but for insects, these challenges are particularly unique. Join us  to explore some of the ways they survive the chill enjoy a buggy snack too.  Program is recommended for children 3 and up. There is a $2 fee per child with caregiver.

After School in the Woods: Winter Stars of the Sky

Cold winter nights are a great time to do some star gazing. Learn about some of the winter ‘stars’ of the winter sky and make and take a stargazing tool of you own.

I Spy a Young Naturalist

Foster a natural curiosity in your little one as you venture outdoors and ‘spy’ on what’s happening around Gibson Woods Nature Preserve. This program, designed for kids ages 3-5 with an adult, will include a story, craft, snack, and lots of outdoor exploration! This program happens every 2nd Monday of the month from March-December from 9:30-11:30 AM. This program is $5 per child with caregiver.
