Nature’s Bouquet Hike

Every other Tuesday, April 22-September 24

(April 23, May 7,21, June 4,18 July 2,16,30 August 13,27, September 10,24)

More than 300 species of native plants are found at Gibson Woods, including a variety of rare and unique species. Join a park naturalist for a walk through the preserve to learn more about our native flora. Comfortable shoes and insect repellent are recommended.

Spring is one of the best time to see a variety of migrating birds species including thrushes, warblers, sparrows and vireos. Walk with a park naturalist to see who is visiting the woods.

Unless otherwise noted, programs are free but donations are always appreciated. Pre-registration is also recommended,call Gibson Woods at  219-844-3188. Homeschool, scout and other groups are welcome to attend, but all families within a group must register individually.

Full Moon Rising Hike

All ages

Friday, April 19 from 7-8:30 PM

Join us as we enjoy a spring sunset walk and watch the full moon rise. Please dress for the weather, as the trails will be wet this time of year.
